An Adventure on the Edge of Two Worlds
Leave the asphalt behind and dive into a real off-road expedition through Bulgaria and Greece. This 8-day journey takes you from UNESCO-listed monasteries to thermal rivers, from mountaintop views to hidden beaches, through pine forests, olive groves, and some of the wildest trails in the Balkans.
Along the way, you’ll raft mountain rivers, bathe in natural hot springs, explore cliffside monasteries, visit the mythical Mount Olympus, and ride through remote Greek hills with views of the Aegean Sea. This is more than a tour — it’s a complete immersion into the nature, culture, and rhythm of two Balkan worlds.
Day 1: Arrival in Sofia — Rila Monastery & Bansko
Your adventure begins with a warm welcome at Sofia Airport. From there, we drive to one of Bulgaria’s spiritual treasures — the Rila Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site surrounded by forest and peace. After exploring this sacred place, we continue to Bansko, a cozy mountain town where we check in and enjoy a traditional Bulgarian dinner.
Day 2: Off-Road in Pirin Mountains & River Rafting
This day is all about adrenaline and awe. We start with a 4×4 jeep ride through the wild terrain of Pirin National Park — stopping at photo-worthy viewpoints and walking trails. By midday, it’s time for rafting down a mountain river under the guidance of experienced instructors. After the splash and thrill, we end the day with a relaxing dinner and peaceful mountain air.
Day 3: Into Greece — Mountain Lakes & Thermal Springs
We leave Bansko and head south, crossing into Greece via mountain roads surrounded by dense forests and alpine lakes. On the way, we stop to soak in natural open-air hot springs — a wild thermal river under the sky, where even Alexander the Great is said to have bathed. A once-in-a-lifetime experience of connection with nature.
Day 4: Off-Road to Meteora — Monasteries in the Sky
Today’s route takes us deep into Greek hills and forests as we ride off-road toward the incredible cliffs of Meteora — where ancient monasteries perch on towering rocks. This surreal sight combines nature, history, and spirituality. In the evening, we settle in a nearby Greek town for dinner and rest.
Day 5: Mount Olympus & Thessaloniki
In the morning, we drive to the base of Mount Olympus — Greece’s highest peak and the legendary home of the gods. After exploring this mythical landscape, we head to Thessaloniki, Greece’s second-largest city. We visit the famous White Tower, walk the waterfront, see ancient ruins, and admire Byzantine churches. As the day ends, we unwind on the beach with the sound of waves and the setting sun.
Day 6: Views of the Aegean Sea & Return to Bulgaria
After breakfast and Greek coffee, we return to off-road trails — winding through olive groves, pine woods, and remote hills with stunning views of the Aegean coastline. After one last look at Greece, we cross back into Bulgaria and check in at a hotel for a quiet, relaxing evening.
Day 7: Peak of Pirin — Glacier Lake & Folklore Night
Back in the Pirin Mountains, we head off-road again through forests and ravines, eventually reaching a point where we take a lift to the summit. There, you’ll see a glacial lake formed during the Ice Age. In the evening, we celebrate the journey with a festive folklore night featuring live Bulgarian music, dancing, and traditional food.
Day 8: Sofia City Walk & Free Time
Our last day brings us to the capital, Sofia. Depending on flight time, we’ll enjoy a relaxed city walk, visiting key landmarks like the Saint Sofia Church and Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. You’ll also have free time for shopping in local boutiques and markets before your airport transfer.
“This journey took us across borders and beyond roads. From sacred monasteries to wild rivers and ancient myths — we lived every day in motion, connection, and discovery. Thank you for riding with us!”
